That's not the Chicken...and not The Chicken (which has been the San Diego Chicken and The Famous Chicken over the years).
That was the mascot for 98 Rock, the radio station that was big in Tampa at the time. I don't know what type of animal it was, and it may have, in fact, been A chicken. But it wasn't the Chicken or The Chicken as we refer to a specific character here in the States.
